THE GRACE PLACE CHURCH – A BIBLE BELIEVING CHURCH
If you ride by our church, you will hopefully see our sign proclaiming “We are a Bible believing church”, and we certainly believe that we are. That phrase was one that the late Charlie Kirk used to encourage the young people of our country to find a “bible believing church”, and a better encouragement for our youth would be hard to find. And as a Bible believing church we believe that God’s Holy Word, the Bible, is our only rule of Faith and Practice, as 2nd Timothy 3 v 16 & 17 point out: “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for reproof , for correction, for instruction in righteousness. V17 that the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.” In modern language this means:
“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be completely equipped for every good work.” We believe in a God that is sovereign, whose Word is the absolute authority in our lives, and it is by His Word that God equips us for His service.
Although this doctrine (the absolute Sovereignty of God) is becoming more rare in our world today, a modern world which embraces liberalism and wokeism, we at The Grace Place remain committed to the exhortation in Jude 1 v 3 that the church of God “should always earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.”
We believe that points us to the timelessness of God’s word, that what was true in the early church is just as true today.
Another important aspect of our church is our fellowship with one another, as The Apostle Paul wrote to the Romans in Chapter 12: we believe that as we are one body (The Body of Christ) and that we have many members, those members do not all have the same function, so we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another, and as such are The Family of God here in the world. That word “fellowship” is from a Greek word “koinonia” which means the sharing of things in common. For the church that commonality refers us to the fact that we are each a part of the Body of Christ and are indeed one Family, we believe that Jesus was the Christ, who came into this world to seek and save that which was lost. And we understand that we were among that number.
We believe that Hebrews 10 v 25 is a verse that should be practiced, today more than ever: “Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is, but exhorting (encouraging) one another: and so much more as ye see the day approaching.” We understand that “the day” spoken of here is The Day of Jesus returning, and yes! It is approaching faster than we can even imagine, so the assembling of our church family for fellowship and worship is of the utmost importance. So we would ask that you please consider coming and visiting with us that you might enjoy some true Christian Fellowship, as we worship our Lord and Saviour together. We promise that we will make you feel welcome.
